Three Months to Live—II

Is there a hope?

By Maryam BatoolPublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read
It's a SIGN

The petrichor gusts filled the yard with dust

It was my 'second month', It was for sure; August

I slept on the first night and witnessed a strange cure

I was swaying through the dandelions, the fields were pure

My hair looked flowing and long when in real I was Bald

"Emilie! Find your lost smile", someone from behind; called

I looked back but I couldn't find— no one

Wind carried a strange smell as if something was undone

At the turn of the plant, I saw my old dream

My paintings standing on the canvas~ I could hear their scream

As If they wanted me to paint again

As If I needed to refresh the color of my pain

I took the brush and wrote my true answer

I twisted my brush, my stokes drew 'Cancer'

But at once, that word began to change

Was it a MAGIC?— It was extremely strange

In the blink of an eye, "Warrior" was written on canvas

As if it said, "You're losing 'YOU' in madness"

I, again held the brush but this time without the sigh!

As soon as I touched it, I opened up my eye

I looked in the mirror and saw myself in shine

The smell of those white plants, I swear it was a 'SIGN'

I got out of my bed— acknowledged the hope with all my soul

My remaining days were now my new GOAL

Hanged out, No doubt— I continued to re-live my laugh

Day by day, I could see, My 2nd month was already half
