Three Eyed Child

in trouble for the problems of the future

By Trent OdlinPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

I sit there waiting,

watching. three eyes hopeful for

the scent of some new

Crimson satin,

salty sinew for the dim, lights

on the docks, no ship in view, the lighthouse empty

a marred sight for those without eyes. kaleidoscopes absent from use

taste on the trees, scarred rings of a treasure map

anvils lie in wait for the troubled hammers, sick

villages and tribes, never reaching the end a forever spiral

made of sand, fall through your grasp

Collapse into mist

Collapse!

Combust into breath!

You taught it to me,

the actions needed, the words bespoke

coursing through my winds, into my cosmic

channeling the waves of rock and amethyst

bend to rules handmade by the father

pragmatic views for the second child a wash

crew terrier, small achievements

underway, a key carrier ecstatic in change

Fall!

break away and

kill your ancestors

About the Creator

Trent Odlin

After getting diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease at the age of fifteen, forcing me out of school and uprooting my life, I spent the majority of the next five years in bed. There, I found writing, and my own style of surreal poetry.
