Thoughts in Isolation

by a lonely baddie

By Aminah FloodPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

It starts when I open my eyes,

I have a split second of peace,

before I have to face my mind.

You see, when I see the sun shining through the glass,

I wish I was getting kisses and didn't have to ask,

I wish someone looked at me and felt glad.

But what about after that?

When I get home from work, feet swelling,

I wish someone could see and want to calm the dwelling,

sit and hold me when my soul is yelling.

I rarely have that person,

someone who wants to starts the day with a laugh,

yeah the world says you can do it for yourself,

"you don't need people to make you feel wealth",

but trust me, I already do,

I spend so much time alone, loving it too,

but then those moments hit,

when you just wanna share yourself with a decent crew.

So I write this so those who relate can know,

I look back and realized I spent most of my time alone,

yearning for love even though I had a home.
