Thoughts from my covid bed

a stream of thoughts after yet another hurdle

By Lily SéjorPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

Uncensored, unfiltered, you did say

In that case, you won’t be mad, I pray

*

Life’s a bitch and then you die

Such a cliché, I know, but is it actually a lie?

I have no thoughts of self-deletion

But barely any of self-completion

*

Do you know the effort it takes

And how many times your spirit breaks

Before you even reach level zero of life

Compared to one suffering much less strife?

*

“Playing victim!” some will say

“Hey, what about me? I’m not dominant per se”

It’s not the Olympics

We’re not comparing tricks

I’m talking about a structure

Whose design is to destructure

And I know that you can see it

Cos we all notice when we lose some benefit

*

Ain’t that right?

Hmm… to acquiesce or to gaslight?

*

I’ll leave it up to you

Right now, my brain’s in a catarrhal stew

So I’m gon pull my cover and bid you adieu
