This red heart, unopened

A moment

Passion always bubbled

beneath the surface of my skin

in bright, vibrant shades of red.

But my lust has not always swayed towards

stubbled faces

masculine scents

chests rich with hair..

It has longed for

plump scarlet lips,

curvaceous hips,

an unmistakable softness.

And yet

this lusting red heart

has been locked in the dark.

A room where there are

no shades of grey

where I am nothing more than

part of the darkness.

But one day

bright beams of white light shone in

and on me there were colours of every shade

a rainbow that set itself upon me and

released me.

I loved every colour:

red,

blue,

yellow

and every blended combination of each.

I was no longer in the darkness

I knew who I was,

who I desired,

and I was proud, fierce and free.
