The cold December wind blew outside of the bathroom window
Two pink lines appeared across the canvas
Legs shaking the thirteen year old looked
At that moment she felt she had been suffocated
Her mind felt as if it was at war
She threw it into a grocery bag where it would be thrown into the back of her closet
At school she worried if all eyes were on her
Her best friend would ask if she was alright
But no one must know
Her friend pleaded that she let her into her deep ocean of thoughts
She gave up and told
Placing her finger to her lips
But no one must know
She felt like a broken record sending another we need to talk text
Next thing she knew she was headed home for being too sick
Do you think it's the flu
Giving in she told her grandma what the fuss was all about
She had her take another test just to be sure
Then gave the boy a call once more
Let's talk the white bubble read
I'm here she replied
You need to abort his words as cold as ice
There's no way thats happening she shot back fire
I won't be involved the reply came two minutes later
Good we have no desire
Everyday felt like a battle
The girls school counselor told almost anyone who would listen
Not being able to take it no more
She transferred to homeschoo
Everyone was talking
She wouldn't dare step outside
Locked away in her tower like Rapunzel
The time went by as if by magic
She knew she had won
For her daughter was so beautiful
She loved her a ton
Years came and went
At age seventeen she met her prince
He loved the little girl like his own
Doves flew across the sky on their wedding day
She hugged her girl and knew they had made it
In the warm dark bedroom
She read them goodnight
The little girl on the floor and the babies in her arms
She told them all three
Mommy loves you and am so happy how everything turned out to be
About the Creator

The skies are blue, haven't been for a while
