Imagine being there when he asks,
being the fall of a heartbreak,
a dagger that staggers yes into a no,
That beautiful family growing cold,
Christmas by the fireplace,
my hands are getting old,
For blissful moments I take the grace of my face,
I bear blood on my shoulders to hide her disgrace,
I have mercy on myself and them but time does not,
I have taken nothing that wasn't already stolen,
thusly the ego is emboldened,
But,
it's so much sadder when every third thing is missing,
When
others come to take where life promised and
never gave
a thing
but
that
broken.
