When I look in the mirror,

What do you think I see?

Do you think I'm happy?

"Yes!"

I hear you say,

You can't always see beyond the mask,

The truth is this;

When I look in the mirror,

As happy as you might think,

My reflection only reflects,

What is outside of me,

Every day I ask myself,

"Am I too fat?"

"Am I too thin?

I hide my face,

Because I don't want you,

To see the real me,

Everybody else seems more beautiful,

Prettier,

Slimmer,

And because of the media,

I don't see me.

I ask you not to judge me,

I hate my distorted misery,

But please remember,

Thinking fat or thin,

Really hurts me.
