Thinking about our Past

What happened on the way here?

By Ch. Nikshith RamPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

I am happy to say,

That I've reached a place

Where very few can survive.

But I know enough to say,

That in this desolate space,

I have the will to thrive.

I have endured many of life's obstacles,

Face all of the worst ones,

But I could never step on the path,

Fulfilling all of my promises.

Whether it was to my kin or my sons,

I had to face all their wrath.

All these feelings and all these words,

Remind me of a time when nothing was cursed,

I was free as much as I could want.

But the times have changed since,

Now I find myself submersed,

In an ocean full of daunt.
