Thinking About Food

I Think Of Food. Always.

Even When I’m Not.

My existence is an eternal documentation

Of my expired experiences,

Reincarnated as food.

A colossal compilation of my proliferate

Admiration, devotion and knowledge

To Mother Nature.

A transliteration of my

Methods in conversation

And investigation with ingredients.

The ineluctable subliminal permeation

Bears inexhaustible gravity

For my intense enquiry into food.

I Love That,

Knowing;

The way the wind rushes against my cheeks,

The sound of the ocean at dawn,

The exhilaration of running uphill,

The conversations we have over coffee.

The intensity I felt last week,

Watching a shark glide the length of a wave.

The joy I feel immediately,

Laying in tangerine sunlight.

The poem I wrote at 3am,

The food at the wine bar we ate together,

The smell of salt and olive oil,

The warmth of your handshake.

Will ultimately be recomposed. Perpetually

Expanded, into cosmic transliterations

Of my human experience.

Resolving eventually as food.
