Think Before You ________

A Poem

Every word that you hear

with your two fragile ears

can make you or break you

or stick with you like glue.

With the power words have,

a laugh is not worth the pain inflicted.

Words can cause pain, like a gas emitted.

And those hurtful words can never be repealed.

Broken bones can generally be healed.

A broken heart can never completely mend

because the cracks will refuse to fully relent.

A scar upon an innocent soul,

a damaged heart that will never be whole.

Before you say any judgemental words,

really think about what they’re worth.

If it’s worth hurting someone for a few little snickers,

then you may as well have pulled the trigger.
