Things My Dad Taught Me

He was a good bloke.

always shake hands standing up!

don’t jump when you’re holding a beer

always look a man in the eye

be nice to ya sister and ya mum

don’t let a friend drive drunk or angry

never smoke a blokes last cigarette

make sure you’re out of bed before ten

keep your bread in the freezer

a frozen slice saves

always chew your food

with your mouth closed

and brush your teeth

after every single meal

don’t ever fart in a tent

he said and he

was quite adamant

never ever go three on a match

don’t spend more than

twenty bucks on the pokies

and if you win good

he said

take it all and run like fuck

run like fuck away

not to the track

not to your dealer

take it and get

take it and get

take it and get

get you and get her

get some nice
