They're Gone

verse 2

By Forest GreenPublished 2 months ago • 1 min read

I chase the bag but it don’t fill the void

Every check got a cost, every win gets destroyed

Used to split the pie, now I eat it alone

Talk to the mirror like it’s pickin’ up the phone

They said ride or die, but the tires went flat

Left me pushin’ the whip while they faded to black

I got memories sharper than the knife in my back

Every laugh from the past turn my stomach to black

I’m still that same kid with the fire in his chest

But the fire burn different when you bury the rest

I wear they names like the ink on my skin

Every step that I take feel the weight of they sins

I ain’t cryin’ no more, I just channel the rage

Turn the pain to a stage, put the hate on the page

They’re gone but the hustle still pump in my veins

Every win got they ghost ridin’ shotgun again
