They wanted me gray
And to gray they ascribed all
The virtues of goodness and validity,
All other colours had to fall.
I never doubted my colour though;
I bore green and yellow, even red
That gray could not overshadow.
Forbidden it was, but I wore pink too.
Blue was always there to tell them
My story of bravery and fight;
I fought and never lost a hue;
Even in the dimmest of life, I shone,
True to myself, I need no validation.
One life is all we have and mine colourful I chose.
