They Take Care of Us

There's A Fee to be Free

Runner-Up in Say It Again Challenge

Our forefathers pledged,

While ink on parchment bled,

Our rights are declared,

They take care of us

We fight for our rights,

To live and to love,

When push comes to shove,

They take care of us

We planted the seeds,

We pay for the land,

In blood, words and deeds,

They take care of us

They say we are free,

But there is a fee

Guns cocked and aimed,

They take care of us

Protectors of peace

Can kill us with ease

When words do not please

They take care of us

Come sister and brother,

We'll care for each other,

Defend the just order,

Before they take care of us
