There you were trusting for another day, completely relaxed with hope
There was I, trusting in technology and skill, knowing you were a fighter
There you were, hanging on but never giving up, never doubting God's love
There was I, acknowledging God's presence and power to "heal and keep"
But God had other plans... And that's okay because it was better for you
But God had plans for me, too. To grow me in faith and take me deeper
There you are, everywhere I go and when I turn around, you pop up my son
There was I, in my imagination with you, seeing you in Heaven laughing
There you are, in my kitchen, stirring pots and taste-testing, adding spices
There was I, hearing your voice still, and sharing in our teasing banter
There you are, at the grocery store, sneaking up behind and pinching me
There am I, turning to see who dared "touch my behind," seeing you grin
There you are, telling me not to cry, to remember we will be together again
There am I, holding on to that and learning to live with that being enough
