There Are Pink Clouds

The Aviator & The Artist

ABOUT 3,000' ALTITUDE, TAKEN FROM MY LITTLE AIRPLANE

Yes, there are Pink Clouds...and blue ones and purple ones too. There is a symbiotic and magical relationship between the Aviator and the Artist... I am lucky to be both.

The Aviator is witness to some of nature's most spectacular colors in the skies. The Artist sees color in the world around her through the prism of her unearthly bound experiences. So few are the blessed that behold both gifts.

The Aviator questions why the clouds can appear cotton candy pink and periwinkle blue... The answer is scientific, logical, practical... It is a result of atmospheric optics filtering through white clouds and reflecting scattered sunlight.

The art student asks the Artist, "Why are we painting the clouds PINK? Clouds are white!!!" To which the Artist answers: "Of course there are pink clouds, you just have to pay attention..." "They appear because the Universe wants us to take notice of its vivid colored masterpiece, painted across the sky..."

They will appear at sunrise and sundown if you are fortunate enough to see them. The Aviator and the Artist both relish and exploit this exquisite phenomenon. The Pink Clouds are Nature's way of welcoming us at dawn to another day on Earth and rewarding us at dusk.

A celebration that we are still here.
