The You

The Stain

By Pumpkin PiePublished 12 months ago 1 min read

I grieve for the old you. This new you is alive and unrecognizable . I grieve for what was and what could have been. I think about you often and not at all at the same time. You carved a path of destruction with one incomprehensible decision. I want to be rid of you. But down deep in the darkest corner of my heart there is a microscopic piece of you that hides. Lurking in the shadows waiting to twist the knife harder and deeper each time I’m reminded of anything remotely related to you. Why can’t I be rid of you? Why do you haunt me? I would bathe in holy water if it meant that I could cleanse myself of the stain of you and the demon that’s taken your place.
