The Yo-Yo That Wouldn’t Come Down
Funny title things o string are yo-yo’s

The Yo-Yo That Wouldn’t Come Down
Someone invented a special yo-yo,
With a string that reached the moon,
You pulled it down at breakfast time,
It disappeared again by noon.
It travelled past the clouds above,
Then bounced around a passing plane,
The pilot shouted through the glass,
“Please keep that yo-yo in its lane!”
It spun around the Eiffel Tower,
Then flew across the sea,
It came back with a tiny note,
“Stop throwing this at me!”
They tried to catch it with a net,
They tried a giant fishing hook,
They even asked a wizard once,
Who said, “Don’t give me that look.”
The yo-yo seemed to have a mind,
It chose exactly where to go,
And every time they pulled the string,
It shouted loudly, “NO, NO, NO!”
One day it vanished into space,
And orbited Saturn’s rings,
Then came back wearing tiny boots,
And claiming it had seen strange things.
The inventor finally gave up,
And placed the yo-yo on a shelf,
But every time he turned away,
It quietly invented itself.
Now somewhere in the universe,
A yo-yo spins beneath the stars,
And nobody knows exactly why,
But apparently it owns Mars.
