The yellow mushroom and the bees

Doodles and Ditties: an unofficial challenge

By Susan Fourtané Published 4 months ago 1 min read
Yellow Mushroom guy by Eli

Once upon a time, in a faraway forest,

A yellow mushroom thought he was a florist.

He woke up early and called for the bees;

What he never called were those awful fleas.

*

Off they go, yellow mushroom and bees,

Singing along with the ants, the wasps, and the bumblebees.

“This way!” said a tiny bee, pointing her nose toward the cherry trees.

Yellow mushroom, with excitement, followed the bee,

Unaware that what was coming was a strong, cold breeze.

*

Hurry! said the yellow mushroom,

“I don't want the cherry blossoms to fly away without me.”

The cherry blossoms and the rose trees wanted to escape

From the yellow mushroom florist, the bees, and even from me!
