The world stops for nothing
grief does not slow
the turn of the Earth
sorrow can’t make
the bills disappear
pain doesn’t stop
events from happening
loss cannot make
the day fade away any slower
each and every
day can’t wait
for fear, depression,
self-loathing, or confusion
to step down,
leave, or go away
light gives way to dark
night gives way to day
the time must pass
all the same
despite your aching
or broken heart
the world goes on
the Earth, it must turn
rain falls
the sun will shine
ice melts
death and creation
life and destruction
The world stops for nothing
