The World Stands on Standby

No cool no rain just burning heat

The World Stands on Standby

It feels like the world’s on standby again,
Holding its breath through unbearable flame.
The sky wears a fever no rain can erase,
As summer returns with a psychotic face.

The roads shimmer wildly beneath burning skies,
Heat bends the horizon and blisters our eyes.
The wind has surrendered, the trees barely sigh,
Even the birds seem afraid to fly.

The flowers hang low with their colours drained dry,
While rivers remember the tears they once cried.
The earth cracks open in silent despair,
As smoke writes its warnings across poisoned air.

The nights bring no comfort, they smother instead,
Hot shadows creep softly around every bed.
The moon stares helpless through waves of white fire,
Watching the world climb higher and higher.

Time seems suspended in shimmering haze,
Lost in a furnace of endless days.
Clocks keep ticking, yet nothing moves on,
As if the whole world has forgotten its song.

The silence feels louder than thunder could be,
A strange kind of prison with no master key.
Windows stay closed while curtains hang still,
The heat has a presence, a dangerous will.

It prowls through the daylight with merciless grace,
Leaving exhaustion on every face.
It whispers, “Remember… I’m never too far,”
Like a scar that keeps finding the place where you are.

Yet somewhere beyond this relentless blaze,
Beyond the mirage of these burning days,
A single cool breeze still waits to appear,
Promising autumn is quietly near.

Until then the world remains frozen in fright,
Holding its breath through another long night.
Watching the heavens with hope set aside,
As the psycho heat returns… and the whole world stands by.
