The World

Human Race of Today

It is not an organized thing,

we are mere civilized beings

living for this thing called, "Meaning."

Yet, everything is, "Demeaning."

There's "bad this," and, "bad that."

The whole world is out of whack.

Got the world feeling hungry.

Moving plates, moving countries.

Tsunamis overflowing.

Volcanoes loudly purging.

Everyone seems to speak of change.

Look at the world, is it still the same?

Tell me what you see when you see me.

"This girl that, this girl be."

The one who sees through your eyes,

the one who lived and the one who died.

Open your eyes and look around,

even children make one frown

upon the parents who spoiled them.

Left them to rot and speak ill of them.

Who walk around lonely on the streets,

the ones who are hungry with cold feet.

Ill-mannered goons run amuck,

tell me why there are so much?

Drama, killing, blood on the streets,

even words cause thirty

seconds on this world of doom,

every once in a blue moon.

Now tell me what do you see.

Breaking news nearly day-to-day.

Fighting wars near and away.

It is here to stay.

All you can do now is pray,

that the world will not go astray

on the human race of today.
