The Words Don’t Come

The Weight Is Heavy

The words don’t always

Come the way

I need them to

Instead there’s a weight

A burden

He lifts me up

But sometimes

I need to reach out

Too.

A heart that

Is hurting

A loss impending

God knows the

Timing

But an Aunt

Nearing her last chapter.

But words don’t come

Questions do

Prayers that I can’t

Exactly

Say in so many

Words!

My heart hurts

For the questions

That may never

Be answered

For the children

She’ll leave behind

Grown now

But it will always

Hurt.

The words don’t always

Come

Fast and furious

Sometimes they

Come in trickles

As you try

To make sense

Of a reality

That is

Senseless!
