The Woman Who Thought She Couldn't Do Anything.

She sat in a room, in the dark,

Behind locked doors,

Constantly dimming her light,

Her soul,

Because she was afraid of failing.

She had been called a failure all her life,

And she believed it;

Too many put-downs,

Drilled into a person's head can

do that,

Make them believe they are useless,

For the rest of their life.

This woman had many friends,

They called her,

'The voice of healing.'

They knew there was magic in those

sweet melodies,

A sweet musical rhythm,

That had the power to touch human souls,

And heal them.

This woman didn't believe them,

She thought she couldn't do anything

One beautiful, sunny morning;

She sang her song,

From the comfort of her dark room,

And,

Unknown to her;

A prince was standing on the footpath below,

Listening to the magical power of her sweet,

musical, singing voice.

He called to her,

Beckoning her to open her window and

let the light in.

She was resistant at first,

But;

She heard him cry.

She opened up the window,

Staring at the beauty of the sunlight surrounding

the street on which she lived,

She let the magic of her beautiful voice be heard.

She realised she was wrong about herself,

She was capable of doing something after all,

When she let her light shine;

And that was the most powerful and magical light that

the world, and herself had ever seen.
