The Woman Who Stayed

She smiled and stayed in troubled times

The Woman Who Stayed

She carried storms behind her eyes.
Yet still she found a way to smile.
The world had tested all her strength.
She walked another weary mile.

She’d trusted hearts that turned away.
She’d heard the words that left a scar.
But every tear she ever cried.
Still showed her who she really was.

She stopped explaining all her pain.
To those who never cared to hear.
She learned that silence can be strong.
When you have nothing left to fear.

The nights were long, the days were hard.
But something kept her moving on.
She’d wake and face another day.
And find the strength to greet the dawn.

She never needed to be loud.
Her quiet heart had much to say.
She knew the ones who truly cared.
Would never ask her to change her way.

She left behind what made her small.
She closed the doors she could not mend.
Some chapters had to reach their end.
Before another could begin.

She learned that love should not demand.
That kindness should not come with pain.
And those who truly value you.
Won’t make you prove yourself again.

She still remembers where she’s been.
The people lost, the words once said.
But now she carries less regret.
And leaves the past where it was led.

She is not broken, she is changed.
Her heart still knows the meaning true.
She stayed beside herself at last.
And found the woman she once knew
