The Woman Who Spoke To The Moon

She sat beneath the moon,
With secrets in her eyes,
She spoke about her pain,
To stars across the skies.

She told the moon her tales,
The ones she never shared,
The times she felt alone,
The times nobody cared.

The moon stayed by her side,
And never turned away,
It listened to her tears,
Until the break of day.

She spoke about lost love,
And promises that died,
The people who had left,
And never turned aside.

She told it of her nights,
When sleep would never come,
The battles in her heart,
And all the things she’d done.

The moonlight touched her face,
And softened every scar,
It seemed to whisper low,
“You’ve always been a star.”

She raised her tired eyes,
And watched the heavens glow,
Perhaps the pain she’d known,
Had taught her how to grow.

She knew the past was gone,
She could not make it stay,
But something deep inside,
Was waking up that day.

She thanked the moon that night,
Then slowly walked away,
She carried less of hurt,
And faced another day.

The morning found her strong,
With hope within her heart,
The woman who once cried,
Was ready for a start.
