I snuck away from my grandparents exploring my aunt's property. I loved the peaceful feeling of her land. It had been a while since I felt any peace. I kept walking around alone. In the wooded area I could hear soft wimpering as though a dog is in pain. As an innocent kid I never thought much of it. I have always had a love for animals. Simply, in my mind animals had this unconditional love humans didn't have.

I went in the bush to see this gorgeous dog I had no idea she was a Coyote. Her head bowed down I didn't know at that time when an animal did this what it meant.

I know as an adult it means your in my terrority step away.

I told her, "I promise I won't hurt you I can help you."

She looks at me her ears perked up.

I snuck back down to get a bowl and some water. When came back to her she let me come inside her den. I give her some water, and she must have been thirsty.

I had a wild childhood, but I didn't care.

I started at her, "you look different them most dogs."

I could feel like she understood me. The other good thing about animals as long as anyone treats them right wild or domesticated they protect from any threats. Especially you are in their den.

It was all day I spent time with her a 9 year old girl away from her family. My family had no clue where I was. They didn't know I was gone. Thinking back on this as an adult this is very neglectful.

I stayed with her all day I named her Wolfie. I talked to her a lot through the day and she listened to me it felt like.

"Wolfie this hard adjusting to living with my grandparents."
