The woes of moving on.

It’s not so easy, to look away, when the heart would yearn to stay,

The joy that came from such delightful bliss, the lips that were once yours to kiss,

Now to say one last goodbye, a painful sigh, with tears to cry,

Yet the heart would hope time would bring, one last song to sing.

It’s not so easy, to look astray, to go about day by day,

The love that once had your so filled, now in an instant, killed,

Now to have only memories of old, and stories for others, to be told,

Yet the heart would hope so long, to find the will to be strong,

It’s not so easy, to look away, where simple words were not enough to say,

The pain you bear, the constant strife, the seasons throughout your life,

Now winters touch seems too prolonged, as your heart had been so wronged,

Yet the heart would flee from horrid lies, to quite a pleasant surprise!
