The Witch’s Tea
She captured me for ever more, a witches slave that’s me

The Witch’s Tea
She poured the tea,
And counted fingers wrong,
The kettle giggled in the corner,
Her hat tipped over like a joke.
I sipped, expecting poison,
It tasted like burnt marshmallows,
She laughed, smoke curling from ears,
“Your life just got a little stranger.”
The broomstick twitched in the corner,
A jar blinked its many eyes,
I tried to leave,
The door shrank before me.
She danced on the table,
Mixing sugar with shadows,
I laughed, I cried,
The tea laughed louder than me.
A spoon floated in the air,
Stirring dreams into nightmares,
I tried to cover my eyes,
But her magic found them anyway.
I spilled the sugar once more,
The shadows giggled and swirled,
The floor shifted beneath my feet,
And the morning never came.
