The Window Never Closed
A Memory That Refuses to Fade I

I still hear the rain that night it fell,
Soft as secrets I couldn’t tell.
The clock stood still, the lights were low,
But time inside refused to go.
Your shadow lingered by the door,
Half in goodbye, half wanting more.
You smiled, though silence filled the air,
And left your warmth still sitting there.
The cup you held, still on the table,
Your name half-whispered in my fable.
The room unchanged, yet not the same,
Each corner softly spoke your name.
I touched the glass, still damp and cold,
It echoed stories never told.
The thunder rolled like hidden grief,
A sky that wept without relief.
They say the past will learn to fade,
But some things time has never swayed.
Like how you laughed, or brushed my sleeve
The way you left but didn’t leave.
So here I sit, years down the line,
A window open, frozen in time.
The world moved on, and so it shows—
But in my heart…
*the window never closed.*
