The Willow Effect

It May Bite Your Rear

I feel hollowed out like a willow tree

Mourning for lost time.

Things didn't turn out as I'd hoped

Leaving me in a sombre mood.

We must yet tidy the disorder

From our small world, whatever is left

It is ours forever.

We've worked so hard for this dream

Our worn-out hands give this life,

Shaped into something beautiful, our Sunday best,

Thought through and through,

This game leaves no room for doubt.

Don’t turn around; it may bite your rear.

This hollow willow will always stand tall,

Dwarfing the surrounding trees.

Because it has weathered the worst of storms,

Endured the hardest of times and forms.

Nothing can scare her, not even a storm or rain,

Nor an avalanche, nor seasonal tornadoes.

She's stronger than all of them

Conjoined in this stressful ball rolling after her,

She dismantles them all, one by one.

It takes the strength of at least fifty men,

And she's doing it all by herself

Using all kinds of developed fields.

Why doesn't everyone do the same?

Don’t turn around; it may bite your rear.

Instead of accusing, let's use the knowledge we have.

Inventors and experimenters created all inventions and experiments for a purpose:

To learn from them and apply that knowledge to our daily lives.

We shouldn't wait for disaster to strike,

We should use the capacity of our brains instead.

Prevention is far more important than repair.

All it takes is attention; nothing more.

Don’t turn around; it may bite your rear.
