The Widow of My Heart
I love you then I love you still

The Widow of My Heart
You stepped into my world so softly,
like a quiet thought in winter rain,
I opened every part of me,
never knowing how deep you would go
or how cold love can turn.
You held my dreams in your fingers,
whispering vows I believed,
I let you carve your name in me
and smiled through the ache
because I wanted to belong.
But love can rot like old wood,
slow and silent in the grain,
and by the time I saw the cracks
you were already drifting
into another shadowed room.
I called out but you did not answer,
your heart was deaf to mine,
and I was left to keep the house
filled with dust and memories
and curtains that never moved.
Now I walk through empty halls,
a widow of a love still breathing,
haunted by a ringless finger
and a voice that cannot fade
no matter how I try.
