What could have been, if only we had stayed

What could have been, if only we had stayed

A friendship that was meant to be, but drifted away

The what-ifs and maybes, they haunt me still

A painful reminder of what we never will

In this weight of what could have been, I'm lost

Haunted by the ghosts of what we never possessed

The memories we made, now taunt me still

A friendship that's silenced, forever locked in the chill

In this weight of what could have been, I search for peace

A solace that eludes me, a fleeting release

But it's lost in the haze of memory's fog

A friendship that's silenced, forever locked in the bog
