Heavy Heart, Silent Tongue

My heart, a leaden weight, drags me through the day,

Haunted by promises I refused to say.

Words choked back, festering in unspoken regret,

Leaving love's melody unfinished, forever unmet.

Your eyes, once sparkling with warmth, now distant and cold,

Reflect the silence I chose, a story untold.

Each passing moment echoes with "what if" and "could have been,"

A symphony of missed chances, lost within.

Can forgiveness mend the chasm that silence made?

Can love's embers rekindle, before hope fades?

The weight of unspoken words, a burden I bear,

Yearning for release, for a chance to repair.

Perhaps tomorrow, courage will find its voice,

To bridge the gap, and make a different choice.

For even heavy hearts, when light finds its way,

Can learn to speak, and chase regrets away.
