The Weight of Hypocrisy

lyric

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 6 months ago • 1 min read

[Verse]

The echoes scream from the ancient hills

Voices sharp as broken steel

They'd cheer the nails through sacred hands

Blind to love they can't understand

[Verse 2]

They preach of light yet cast a shade

A world of lies their hands have made

They shatter homes and call it just

Grinding souls into the dust

[Chorus]

Oh the weight of hypocrisy

It drowns the cries of the free

Children weep while they turn away

Their hearts of stone won't break today

[Verse 3]

Liberty shackled to their chains

While innocence is drenched in pain

They claim the cross but miss the sign

Love was never meant to blind

[Bridge]

And I’m so tired of their charade

The twisted games their power played

They’d cheer the fall of a righteous man

To build their kingdom on sinking sand

[Chorus]

Oh the weight of hypocrisy

It drowns the cries of the free

Children weep while they turn away

Their hearts of stone won't break today
