The Weeping Flowers
When Summers BedTime Comes

The Weeping Flowers
The flowers bowed their weary heads,
When they realised summer was dead.
When all the pretty, bright, cheerful flowers
Go away for another year.
Some flowers aren’t ready to leave earth yet.
They want to stay there, looking so fine.
But the cold destroys what’s left,
And they bid them all goodbye.
The flowers come back next year again,
Grown from human seeds.
The flowers gone from way back when,
But it still makes God’s heart bleed.
It still makes people’s hearts bleed,
To see a summer’s day all colourful.
And flowers that brighten up every heart,
With beauty so wonderful.
And when the leaves start falling,
A new kind of death must start.
Winter comes but at a price,
It destroys nearly everything in its path.
But it displays a show as well,
A show that people have grown to love.
It shows you brown leaves falling,
And snow and rain and ice come calling.
It shows you everything bare,
Like nothing’s ever been there.
But flowers feel it’s special,
When they begin to bow their heads.
For summer that they’d grown and loved,
Must end.
And the flowers end up with no beds,
Until the seasons turn again.
And soon the spring will enter,
And the seeds grow from one single raindrop.
And then before you know it,
The summer flowers pop up and open into the light.
