Janus watches over me
As I consider the splitting paths before me
Each way marred by thick, impenetrable fog
Which one will take me to Elysium
Which one will cast me down to Tartarus
My heart races at the thought
Of choosing the wrong road
Of stumbling to my doom
Damned by my own choices
Blind to the Paradise that lies just feet from me
My guiding light now gone, extinguished for eternity
If only I had listened more closely to your lessons
Now I’d be able to pick the right path—
But lo!
What is that warmth within my heart?
It is a new glow piercing the fog
I cannot see but a few feet before me
But it is enough to take me where I need to go
As Janus smiles down upon me
