The Wave Rider
Here comes another wave, rising up, swelling...
Here comes another wave, rising up, swelling,
An invitation to dance across the sea.
Will you cling to what you know, remaining, dwelling,
Or will you ride along courageously?
The choice is yours if to flow or fix in place,
Grasping known forms tightly like a vice.
But true joy comes when you fearlessly embrace
The call to ride out, though it won’t be nice.
At first it may feel shaky being upended,
Propelled out seaward, balance all askew.
Endure the tumult knowing it’s befriended,
This power that’s tossing, turning, teaching you.
Stay steady on your board through each transition,
Soon equilibrium returns anew.
Trust transformation despite intuition,
You’ll gain your wings and feel the lift breakthrough.
Something greater stirs you now to venture,
To surrender what you were and be remade.
Take the risk, make the leap, boldly enter
The thrill of flowing fierce without afraid.
Stay open and keep riding out each billow,
No wave will last forever, friend. Just flow.
Abide and soon your joy will be no longer shallow,
Deep purpose through each rise and fall you’ll know.
