The warmth of your love like the summer sun

The warmth of your love like the summer sun,

It reaches far beyond the skin,

A quiet change that has begun,

In places dark and locked within.

It does not rush, it does not break,

It does not burn to prove its place,

It simply gives for giving’s sake,

And rests within a steady grace.

I feared the light for what it brings,

For every flame I knew would scar,

I built my walls from broken things,

And kept my distance from afar.

Yet still you stood, you did not fade,

Through colder words and guarded eyes,

You offered calm I never made,

A truth that could not be disguised.

And slowly, through the doubt and fear,

I felt the frost begin to part,

A warmth I had not held for years,

Was finding space inside my heart.

Your love does not demand a name,

It does not shout to make it known,

It moves like an unspoken flame,

A light that feels like coming home.

And if the world should turn to grey,

If all the seasons lose their run,

I still would find, come what may,

My place within your quiet sun.
