The summer sun has yet to shine.
I eagerly anticipate
The way it calms my fickle mind
And sets my worries straight.
Great ball of fire, please come and stay;
Please do not take away your light.
Your warmth helps me to face the day,
And the shadows arrive at night.
Without you, the darkness takes hold
Of my every thought and deed.
Let your heat caress my tired soul.
Come quickly, summer sun, indeed.
