The Wanderer

To the Wanderer lost in a sea of stars, I would show the cosmos from my perspective.

A presence transcending,

of ethereal thought.

In the depths of my mind,

understanding was sought.

~

The Wanderer pleading,

having lost its true place.

Adrift in the cosmos,

felt a need to retrace.

~

We journeyed in tandem,

to the sea’s tranquil heart.

In the light of the moon,

gazed upon the night’s art.

~

There, where water kissed sky,

a map of stars appeared.

In the bob of the waves,

at once, the path was cleared.

~

But the Wanderer stayed;

I, a host for its being.

Quiet contemplation,

for what it was seeing.

~

As darkness turned to light,

Morn's radiance burst forth.

Colours swirled, danced and glowed,

in glorious rebirth.

~

Its sentience adrift,

I felt an unseen smile.

The Wanderer supposed

"Earth... why not stay a while?"
