The Voice That Calls Behind Me

Your voice is in my mind

I never asked to hear

You brought me into life

And then asked me to bear

🙉

Why aren’t you sweet like your brother?

Less complicated like your sister?

Passionate like your mother?

Creative like your father?

🙉

You are too big for your britches

Too smart for your own size

You make us feel like bitches

Stop seeing through our lies

🙉

It’s healthy to be this unhealthy

You are just too vain

You should always feel unworthy

Life is made for pain

🙉

Stop acting like you know better

Those brains won’t get you far

At least you are good looking

Just pretend to be into cars

🙉

You are just an alien

We found out on the curb

So we took pity on you

Because you are absurd

👽

I know I don’t fit this family

You made it very clear

Your voice still calls behind me

I wish it weren’t so near

😔
