Discontent infects, a virulent flu

No seeming cure for this evolving strain

In your soul, my resentment breeds anew

-

Pure nonsense knocks my composure askew

No cage can my impatience contain

Discontent infects, a virulent flu

-

I can’t feel your misery coming through

Sarcasm has become my Novocain

In your soul, my resentment breeds anew

-

Pustules of exasperation accrue

Source of unused vaccine along my vein

Discontent infects, a virulent flu

-

In your voice, my ire cuts through

Have I branded you with the mark of Caine?

In your soul, my resentment breeds anew

-

Can I heal us both before payment comes due?

Or choked our love with a cancerous chain?

Discontent infects, a virulent flu

In your soul, my resentment breeds anew
