The Value in People

I grew up without many friends, yet I made acquaintances in school

Distancing myself from others, I was truly acting like a young fool

I was a fool because I did want friends and I despised being alone

To this day I still do, finding comfort in voices that come from the phone

The loneliness that I dealt with made me more self-aware

People ask me about my current state, do they really care?

My progress in life means nothing, why speak of meaningless affairs?

I've grown judgmental of others, whilst I still stand in front of my stairs

I wanted to seek wisdom without having to stand next to someone

Yet it takes wisdom to know that wisdom stems from everyone

I need others to learn about the world and what it has to offer

I won't find success by myself, for the ones next to me hold the great coffer
