Fear is the thing that keeps us up at night.

She lurks in the darkest of places, lives

to take all that she believes is her right.

From a certain view, not a thing she gives.

Her forms, plentiful, innumerable,

seen only by she, the queen of disguise,

bring with them such a hugely capable

resume of unfortunate allies.

However, it could be said that this is

only a thin view, only one small side

of the tale. To her, it is she who is

wronged, she who has failed when someone has died.

She serves as the protector of the young,

keeps them from those Sirens who've always sung.
