It begins as a whisper, a fleeting thought,
A shadow from nowhere, a feeling caught.
It creeps through the cracks of a peaceful day,
Turning sunlight to clouds, chasing calm away.
A racing heart, a tightened chest,
A mind that cannot seem to rest.
Each thought a thread in a tangled maze,
Each step feels like walking through heavy haze.
What if I falter? What if I fall?
The "what ifs" rise, a deafening call.
The room feels smaller, the air less kind,
As doubt weaves stories within my mind.
Invisible chains that pull me down,
Yet no one sees—they see no frown.
A smile I wear, a mask I show,
While inside, the storm continues to grow.
But even in darkness, a light persists,
A quiet reminder that hope exists.
Through each deep breath, through every tear,
There’s strength in facing what I fear.
For anxiety speaks, but it does not define,
It’s a part of this heart, but this heart is mine.
And though it roars like a beast untamed,
It can be calmed, it can be named.
With time and care, I’ll find my way,
Through restless nights to brighter days.
For every battle fought within,
Is proof of the courage beneath my skin.
So I stand again, though my legs may shake,
Each step a choice, each breath I take.
And though the road may still be rough,
I remind myself: I am enough.
