The Unrecognized

Lost in the moment

She stared into the mirror looking at a person she didn’t recognize. A monster, a hideous beast. Who could love someone as such? Lost in her own mind wanting nothing more than to be wanted. Her days begin to grow longer; she wants nothing more than to just rest. To finally be at peace with herself. To be free. Oh why can’t she just be free. Drowning deeper and deeper, her mind was a black hole.

Happy she may seem but within she’s breaking. Thinning like the pages of an old book. Worn down by the wear of the world. Longing to move forward, she’s stuck. Stuck in a world where hope was just a dream.

What was she fighting for ?...

Slowly she was falling apart. What more could be taken besides her own life source. Steadily growing weaker as the days drifted by. Rest was calling for her, so why put up the struggle...

She was going home. Home to a place of peace and recognization. No longer struggling to fight. She was alive. And the beast she once knew had vanished. She stared into the mirror and saw herself. For once she saw herself.
