The Unbearable Weight Of Thunder

The burden of life

From the first breath we take, we are burdened

With the weight of life, a constant force unburdened,

We strive to find our way, to make our mark,

To leave a legacy, to light a spark.

As we grow, the weight increases,

The expectations, the pressures, the crises,

We try to stand tall, to be strong,

But the weight of life can be too long.

The thunder rolls, a warning sound,

Of the storms that come, when life is unbound,

We brace ourselves, we try to prepare,

But sometimes the weight is too much to bear.

The weight of loss, of grief, of pain,

Can overwhelm, like a torrential rain,

We try to hold on, to stay afloat,

But the weight of thunder, it's hard to tote.

The years go by, and we carry on,

Our burdens shifting, our strengths gone,

We face the future, with hope and fear,

And the weight of thunder, always near.

But in the midst of the weight we bear,

We find moments of joy, of love, of care,

We hold on tight, to what we cherish most,

To the ones we love, and the dreams we boast.

The weight of thunder, it can break us down,

But it's the weight of love that can turn things around,

The love we give, the love we get,

Can help us face the storms, and never leave.

And when our journey comes to an end,

And we face the final thunder, my friend,

We can look back, with pride and awe,

At the weight we carried, and the love we saw.

For some, the weight is too much to bear,

The thunder too loud, the storms too unfair,

They stumble and fall, they lose their way,

And the weight of thunder, it makes them sway.

The weight of mental illness, of addiction,

Can be heavier than any affliction,

The weight of trauma, of abuse, of neglect,

Can be a weight too heavy to deflect.

But even in the darkest of nights,

There can be hope, there can be light,

The weight of thunder, it can be eased,

With the love and support, of those we need.

For we are not meant to bear the weight alone,

We are meant to stand together, to make a home,

To lift each other up, when we fall,

To share the weight, and stand tall.

And when the weight becomes too much to bear,

And the thunder rolls, like a scare,

We can find comfort, in the embrace,

Of those who love us, in any case.

The weight of thunder, it can be unbearable,

But it's the weight of love, that makes life comparable,

The love of family, friends, and all we hold dear,

That helps us overcome, and never fear.

So let us carry on, with the weight of thunder,

With the love in our hearts, that makes us wonder,

And when our journey comes to an end,

We can look back, and say, "I carried the weight, my friend".
