The Truth About Us

Of all the lies,

The greatest one

Is that we did not know

The good that

We did not do.

Long ago, as children,

We knew each other

It was as a child

We came together,

Relations were strained

Conflicts escalated

Words were exchanged

Unwise, childish disputes

Traumatic differences

Legitimized in

The truth about us

It's an entertaining puzzle

A question that brings us together

A question that brings us apart

A question that brings us together

It's a question that we have asked

It's a question that we have answered

The world has long remained a battleground of many battles,

Though some are battles of our young men,

So I will tell you of the numerous times we have all been wrong,

And I'll tell you of a time that I have been

Once upon a time,

Long ago,

When we were children,

We hurt each other's feelings.

We did not understand

These things called feelings

And did not know how to cope.

We were young,
